German Ich und ein Mann
A man and I is more natural in English English than I and a man. Putting yourself first might be considered rather bad mannered.
There's a German proverb: "der Esel nennt sich immer zuerst". I told this to my daughter a gazillion times, I even made donkey sounds every time she said "ich und...", but but she kept saying it nonetheless. In a couple of years, when she has kids of her own, she will copy my words to her kids.
