Why are all the French speakers on DL women?

Because the male voice was incorrect, it pronounced words incorrect, it was difficult to maintain, and it was finally removed.

Not right: the woman's voice was first and the male voice was added after 3 years. All sentences can be heard with any of the two voices available.

Oh.

Someone told me what I said. I guess that wasn't correct. Sorry.

French speakers in duolingo french test are both men and women.

On the languages I've done there have only been women EXCEPT for French on Android where there is a man about a quarter of the time. Both are pretty clear.

i've heard men several times

I am only hearing women speakers in my French and Germans courses and I find it difficult to understand the female voice. I thought the male voice was easier to understand. When will the male voice be brought back? I wish I could choose between male of female voice.

How do I go about choosing which voice to hear? This is the first I've ever heard of this option.

It isn't an option. I just wish it were.

So what's the story? SiteSurf says it's an option, Liz says it isn't.

I did not say it is an option, since it is not. You can't choose the voice. The voice you get can be the man's or the woman's, it's random.

SS, it may be many things, but random it is not, unless it's the most phenomenal statistical coincidence ever. I haven't heard the male voice in over a year. Nor have many other people here. In fact, the user you corrected earlier was under the (understandable) impression that the male voice had been removed altogether.

On which platform are you learning? On the site, I get either voice (seemingly at random) and sometimes, if I correct my translation before submitting it (typo or else) I can hear the other voice.
