In Korean, the subject is often omitted from sentences, so shouldn't "카페에서 무슨 요리 사요?" be accepted as a correct answer?

Does 카페에서 need to be at the start of the sentence or is it also possible to put it behind 요리를

I realised that I accidentally entered 카페서 twice instead of 카페에서 but Duolingo didn't even say that it's a typo. Why so? Is 에 often omitted if 에서 follows a word whose final vowel is ㅔ?
PS (2021/05/31) : I have come across one more such instance. 여기에서 vs 여기서. Even saw it being used in a TTMIK video. So, perhaps my assumption is indeed correct?
