The translation here is very literal. I think native English speakers would shorten this to "Is that our cat or yours?"
This is a sentence from the Pearson course, as far as I can tell - see https://www.duolingo.com/comment/24066422 .
Sometimes, their sentences have quality issues. I'm not sure whether they are native speakers of English and/or German.
But there is no way to contact them. Sad.
That is possible in German as well: Ist das unsere Katze oder eure?
I guess you could say "Is it our cat or your cat?" to be clear, but you would never say "Is it our or your cat?" simply because it sounds awkward and is hard to enunciate.
In German, all three are possible, if not necessarily common.
Ist das unsere Katze oder eure Katze? – is a bit clumsy stylistically speaking (IMO)
Ist das unsere oder eure Katze? – absolutely fine IMO
Ist das unsere Katze oder eure? – dito
