Irish: Can't report problems

I had several "misspelled" words because there was not an accented "U" to select. Also, the audio is frequently not working at all. I know you can't get to everything right away, but I wanted to make sure someone actually knows that there is a problem! Thanks.

The people reading these forums can't make any changes to the course - you have to submit a bug report to Duolingo directly -
https://support.duolingo.com/hc/en-us/articles/204728264-How-do-I-report-a-bug-

You should take a screenshot of the screen where you see the error, and submit it with your report.

(though I have been very disappointed by Duolingo's response to such reports).

I assumed you were on of the moderators... no? Wait, why are you so helpful? Who are you? :D

There are no active moderators on the Irish forum.

Two of the course contributors (https://incubator.duolingo.com/courses/ga/en/status) have moderator status, but they are very infrequent posters in these forums, and, since Duolingo removed the activity stream some months ago, there is no mechanism for contacting them directly any more.

What does this mean for the future of the Irish course? Will there be more development, do you think?

That's a question for the 4 course contributors (see the incubator link above) - they don't have to be involved in the sentence discussions here to continue development of the course.

I think the course will stay as it is for quite some time.

There have been some issues with the team of volunteers essentially burning out.

There is not much communication from the mods, but there is some. For example, a couple of months a new update came out on the new tree that's being developed.

The tl;dr of which is that they are having issues with the restructuring of the team and that they're going to do a bigger overhaul of the tree than they expected beforehand.

There was some discussion on that back here: https://www.duolingo.com/comment/22744214

The issue was in section seven of "Places."

There usually is a "Report issue" button on the bottom left of the practising window on the website. There is a flag icon in the android app you can use to also report an issue with the assignment, after you have submitted an answer.

If those don't exist or work, follow the bug reporting steps as SatharnPHL pointed out.

Also, thank you for your input, so the mods can improve the tree.

The "Report issue" but is quite limited in what it will allow you to report these days - I still don't know what problem with accented Us was, but I'm pretty sure that you wouldn't be able to communicate that with the "Report Issue" button any more, and there definitely was no way to describe the very precise issue with Sentences that don't have audio being used for "Type what you hear" exercises using the "Report issue" button.

True, we can't be as verbose in our reporting anymore. That said, there is still the option of ticking a category, such as "The audio doesn't sound correct" for missing audio, or if you're certain a U without a fada should have been accepted as well, tick the "My answer should've been accepted" box.

Imagine you're one of the people reading the reports (assuming that anyone is actually reading them). You've been reading "the sound is incorrect" reports for years, and they're either wrong, or you can't do anything about them anyway. Why would yet anther report lead you to the conclusion that there is a new problem that only affects "Type what you hear" question? It wouldn't.

The same goes for a "My answer should have been accepted". You look at the answer and see that there are no fadas. Why would you jump to the conclusion that this is a problem with the buttons on the website that most people don't use, rather than thinking that this is yet another report from someone who thinks that fadas don't matter?
