Is it effective to learn two languages at the same time?
Is it effective to learn two languages at the same time? I am planning to learn Japanese and German.
I think it really depends on your own learning style. Some people can learn multiple languages at once, while others can barely focus on one. Everyone's different.
Sure. Sometimes you hit a speedbump with one, and then you can switch to the other one, instead of switching to doing something completely different.
Good choice, those are cool languages. I'd also like to teach myself Japanese, it's awesome!
Well, I think that it hinges on two main points, motivation and time. It's good to bear in mind that the former besides the grammar, it still has the specific characters Hiragana Katakana and Kanji... So if you have time to dedicate to learning both... Go ahead and Good Luck!
I was studying three but I decided to focus on two only, cause I confess sometimes it ends up getting tiring when you practice certain subjects every freaking day over and over again... So, motivation is very important for this process!
It depends on the individual. I was learning French and German simultaneously and people would ask me if it was tough. I would say no because the two languages have a different phonology so I would not mess it up. But, alas, we are all different! Viel Glück! :)
