Well it's similar in Japanese the translation of toilet is "toire" instead of "toiretto."

It was taken directly from the Japanese オートバイ, which is a clipping オートバイシクル, which comes from "autobicycle," an early term for "motorcycle."

This is just my guess, but I could see this being a word that came from when UN forces joined the Korean war. Western troops might have said "autobike" or "motorbike", but Koreans didn't hear the beginning and ending sounds.

Again, just my guess.
