Learning English in other languages?
I currently do English for Spanish-speakers on Duolingo, as well as Spanish for English-speakers, to help me practice my Spanish more. Does anyone know what will happen to my "English" level if I start English as a Portuguese-speaker, to expand my Portuguese language studies? I haven't tried it yet, but I think it'd be useful.
I believe that your level will show as 12 in the discussions and in your profile until one or the other course from which you are studying English goes up to level 13. So, you can't really tell how many XP you need to get to the next level from subsequent languages. Your profile will show only the first one. I'm expecting that to change when you achieve a higher level from a subsequent language. However, I'm on the same level for English from both French and Spanish in this account, so I'm not 100% sure yet.
That's what I've seen so far. I did English for French speakers first and that is what is still showing in my profile at the moment even though I've started English for Spanish speakers.
I can now confirm. My XP for English for Spanish speakers is now showing in my profile. I'm probably going to do Portuguese for Spanish speakers next. I started it but decided it would be worthwhile to do the reverse course again first.
