Would "300 grams of meat, please" be a valid translation?

Who on earth even weighs meat in grams anyway?

Walks into McDonald's... "Hi, can I have a one hundred and thirteen point three nine eight one gram cheeseburger please?" :P

Actually, when (or rather 'if') testmoogle walks into a butcher, he says "Sorry for walking into you"...

I don't quite get what you were saying with that "one meat" thing.

Do you find it odd to ask for a 12 ounce steak? In metric countries, it's measured in grams.

The only thing weird here is the generic "meat". Who would go into a store and ask for "300 grams of meat". Like ... what, any kind of meat will do?
