Why is it "ed" rather than "e"? I thought you only changed "e" to "ed" to separate two identical vowels, not to separate an "e" from an "i".
You are right. The Italian sentence is wrong.

Any else notice the options for ed are "and" or "A twentieth century writer". Hmmmmm the latter doesnt quite fit the sentence!

Is "Do you want to play flute and violin?" wrong (eg someone asking it to a child who wants to be a musician) ?
