See the notes for the sections on ‘Possession’ where this is explained in detail with examples.
In brief, if gyda fi, gen i, etc comes before the thing owned, that word takes a soft mutation. In this case, the rh- in rhif takes the mutation and becomes r-, giving us ... rif.
We recommend reading the notes for each new section before starting it - they are designed to make things easier for you!
If you have an internet connection, you can see them by using a web browser. See https://forum.duolingo.com/comment/17638579
It may depend on your device and browser settings whether you can open the notes without triggering the app. There will be a way for you ask for a new window or a 'desktop' version of the page, or whatever. You should still be able to see the 'duome' link anyway, and that has all the notes in one place.
