“Cannot connect to Duolingo” in the Norwegian course

Recently, just after this latest update, in fact, I’ve had an issue loading my Norwegian course, the main language I’m learning. When I try to open up a lesson, it says “Cannot connect to Duolingo. Try restarting the lesson” or something similar. This issue has occured only since the latest update, I’ve never gotten it before. And yes, I have WiFi and all that jazz, I double-checked. So, I’m thinking that this must be an issue on Duolingo’s end.

Also, P.S. I have restarted the lesson multiple times, and no luck. I’ve also restarted the app, and it hasn’t resolved the issue. P.P.S. I tried to attach pictures, but I couldn’t figure it out.

My iPhone app kept crashing when I tried to open it, so I deleted it and redownloaded it. Now it opens up, but it says I am no longer learning Norwegian, even though it's displaying my completed Norwegian tree right at me and sending me reminders to do my lessons! The flag circle in the upper left corner is blank, and it says I am not a member of a club (when in fact I am the leader of one, or, I was, I guess). I am afraid to switch off to other languages because I think I might not be able to get back to my Norwegian tree, even though I can't seem to do anything anyway...

My profile is still fine on desktop so I have been doing my lessons there to keep up. But the iOS app is definitely buggy on Norwegian and I have submitted a report.

Exactly the same thing here. ...iPhone 7 Plus with iOS 11.0.2 (15A421) and Duolingo App 5.1.13. Blank Icon for Norwegian Bokmål, tree is there but nonfunctional, no more a club member.

Please, help quickly.

There were problems in 5.1.13 with the Norwegian course. Try updating to 5.1.14. I've heard that some people need to delete and reinstall to get it to work though.

This isn't about the Norwegian forum, Bunny, it's the entire course being inaccessible on the newest iteration of the iOS app. :/

I have exactly the same problem. I loaded the last update yesterday and my Norwegian lesson will not load. It says "cannot connect to duolingo ". I rebooted my iPhone 6 and reloaded the app several times but didn't help. I'm able to log on with my username and password in the duolingo website and it works for practice but not the same as the app. Online lessons are very abbreviated and incomplete and lacking in other features too.

Try updating to 5.1.14. It should fix problems with Norwegian.
