When you read a book in a foreign language, you learn words from the context they're in, so you don't always need a dictionary. These unusual sentences make it impossible to find the meaning of a word from the context, they make it harder to learn the language. I think a course should not have silly sentences like these. I have seen the same type of odd or even idiotic sentences in the Czech course, and I don't like them.
