Would 'hare' be a correct answer as well? Or there's another word for that?
It's a different animal and it's called "zając".
Whether people are able to distinguish them is a different matter ;)
They differ thus:
A hare has the longer ears, is generally larger than a rabbit, lives in a field in a 'nest' (sett), and won't (can't?) disappear down a rabbit hole.
Rabbits, highly sociable animals, live with the extended family in underground warrens, and come out (mostly) at night only.
