Napa cabbage is what koreans use to make Kim Chi. Different from regular cabbage in america, which is 양배추.

Well there are two kinds of cabbage that you usually can get in the US- the regular spherical one (which we just call cabbage) and then theres napa cabbage which is longer and less round.

Maybe this is only among people who cook, but i at least distinguish between them

Interesting, in Australia we call 'Napa cabbage' as 'Wombok'. First time ever hearing the former in my life and I cook regularly :o

Polish name of this cabbage is similar to the name that is used in most countries of the world, i.e. "chinese cabbage". As Beijing is the capital of China and Polish name of Beijing is "Pekin" the polish name of "chinese cabbage" is "kapusta pekińska"

Bok Choy and Napa Cabbage are both a type of Chinese Cabbage. Similar, but not the same. My mom makes Kim Chi with both.

It's interesting to read how other countries call this type of cabbage :D In PH, we usually call it "pechay baguio", sometimes "chinese cabbage" too. It's my first time to call it "napa cabbage" though :D
