Translation:Seré bilingüe este año.
Voy a translates to I am going to, which indicates a more immediate future. What duolingo is looking for is the translation of seré which is "I will" which indicates a more distant future.
Still ... they are accepted interchangeably almost everywhere by duolingo. Some consistency would help.
Is speaking two languages being bilingual? In Norway we define it differently, using it about people growing up with and living with two languages. (Catalan/Spanish, English/French in Quebec, Sámi/Norwegian, French/Flemish etc.
Yeah pretty much. In the US, if you can speak two languages fluently you are bilingual. Most of the bilinguals I know were raised in households where the parents first language wasn't English or if they weren't even born in the US themselves. There is a lot of Portuguese and Cape Verdean bilinguals in my area.
