Unless I'm missing some subtlety, I think there's something missing. One of the suggested translations of snijdt was "chops". I put "He chops the lemon in half." but it was wrong. (I think also "slices" would work, for that matter.)
Snijden = to cut. So, literally, "He cuts the lemon through the half." Or in proper English: "He cuts the lemon in half."
