Error 404 when trying to post in troubleshooting
I tried to post this in troubleshooting but got error 404 each time and lost the text of the post. I am going to try again now. I can post in other discussions.
As I was scrolling through replies to a post 5 days ago suddenly the replies disappeared and a blank page came saying 'You have been unsubscribed from following discussions'.
I don't know what this means. I have looked in settings and found nothing about it. I still have a list of followed discussions.
I haven't noticed any change in the way discussions works for me since then, except all the problems there are since the 'maintenance'.
Can anyone help explain what the implications are and what action I need to take?
Thanks I searched for my post of 5 days ago and found ever helpful Usagiboy7 had replied. I have asked him to delete my latest attempts. I don't know if this problem has been reported by anyone as a bug. If nobody has I will try to do so in a day or two. I don't have time just now. Did you report it?
No I didn't. I was to lazy to, because I hardly ever post things. I also didn't report it because I would assume there would be other people to do it, and I figured that they wouldn't need to have it reported because there are like 10 other bugs that they are dealing with ;)
Just to let y'all know, staff is aware of this problem Fixing it is on their to do list. The list is currently very long. So, it might take some time. I recommend copying the text of your discussion before clicking post. If it comes up 404, go back out to the forums, refresh the page, and then look to see if your post appears. If not, I recommend waiting up to 2 minutes, refreshing the page, and checking again. If after that you don't see your post, you'll have saved the text and can try again. :)
Thanks. I have now learned to copy the text. That's what I did when repeatedly posting! But a good tip for everyone. I won't report now I know it's on the to do list. would it be a good idea to have a list of what is on the bug to do list that we can simply look at to see if it is known? It might save a lot of discussion and reporting.
report it, unless you see that others have. They must have a lot to do with all the current bugs. To sort through loads of reports on already reported bug to find what the new bugs or previously unreported bugs are will surely mean that some bug reports will be missed. They are getting there. Already they have fixed the problem of when we clicked on 'reply' several boxes opened up. I'm sure there are other fixes they have done that we have simply taken for granted just because they fixed them so quickly that the glitch was so temporary that we have already forgotten about them.
