Im so mad!
I have been working on Duolingo for 4 months French. Finally decided to purchase the Duolingo Plus, 2 days later lost all of my progress, gems, placement, streak everything!! AND im still getting ads. Paid $79.00 have sent multiple requests for help and there is simply NO ONE in the app to help me! I want my money back!!!!!! So mad!
You can submit a report by using this form and picking the "Type of Issue" as "Purchase issue." In order for us to help you faster, please be sure to explain your issue in detail and include screenshots.
Don't forget to attach screenshots or a pdf-file, which proofs your purchase!
Yeah, the app store only has 48 hour refund option I think.
If you go to the Help page, you can submit a bug report at the bottom of it. It'll take a while for them to reach your support ticket, because bug reports are overflowing at the moment due to updates in the website causing a plethora of them.
To get to the bug report page, hover the mouse over your username in the blue bar at the top of the screen (desktop version). A menu will drop down. One option on it is Help. Click there. Then, scroll all of the way at the bottom. You'll see two options, one to community (blue button, I think), and one to submit the bug report (green button I think).
I had seen another store item to go "ad free".
I do not think Ad-free is Plus related or not.
Plus: You can download about 5 locked (grey) and unfinished skills and more finished skills offline; that's it.
So many changes all the time, it's easy to mix them up and forget bits here and there too. :)

How can that be?
I did some further looking around and got some information that should help you move things along. I've messaged you directly with an email address you can contact and the other instructions you'll need. However, you'll only receive it if you have a real email address that has been typed corrected when you registered your email account. You can check which email you used when you regerested by going here: https://www.duolingo.com/settings
If the email is not correct, you can change it. If you do, don't forget to click the green "Save" button after.
