i have seen that it can also mean " I swear". Is this true?

I don't know about in Swahili, but in Ndau , one of the Bantu languages , kupika means to swear as in taking an oath and not as in insulting.

"I cook" is suggested "and" suggested. This needs to be the case for others like "you sleep" "we write" etc
