I don't even know what to say

This is the first post I ever made on this Discussion board... And I wouldn't have made it if the following didn't happen.

Since 1st May of 2016, when I first joined Duolingo I kept a steady Streak for 520 days full, until yesterday, when I had to buy a Streak Freeze because I was too busy to do anything... Then I come today and find out that it's been reset to 0.

I am practically speechless... Due to this terrible glitch, my 520 days of collecting fell down to nothing.

Has this happened to anybody else? Is it possible to recover the streak?

A streak freeze needs to be bought at least a day before you intend to use it (or it gets used), not the day of. And if you had time to buy a streak freeze, you certainly had time to get a point or two on timed practice to prolong your streak.

And yes, I've bought it one day before. This is not my first time buying a Streak Freeze.. I wouldn't be writing this if it didn't smell fishy to me.

If you lost your streak this morning, then you failed to meet your XP target yesterday during the hours midnight to midnight, so to buy a streak freeze to cover that period you would need to buy it 24 hours or more before midnight.

I'll say it again. I am fully aware of how and when to buy a Streak Freeze - I even remember clicking the button yesterday! - But for someone reason, either the Internet I use or Duolingo failed to perform that task. I guess it's my fault that I didn't double check, for this is my tenth time to use a Streak Freeze and this kind of thing never happened to me before.

Is there a way to recover the streak, or do I have to redo all those 520 days again?

There have been at least 2-3++ threads recently exactly on this thing, that the "streak freeze" did not work for some users.

The good news: You can pay it back on the mobile apps (e.g Android app) in the lingot store.

If you do not have an Android smartphone don't worry:

You can install any Android emulator software like Bluestacks, NOX, VMWare on your computer and run the DuoLingo app within.

That is great... However, online payment systems are unavailable in my country (+ I am underage and therefore have no credit card).
