It should be mama mea. It can easily be mistaken for The mother

In Romanian is this something you would say when speaking to a sibling or your father: 'Mom has a brother.' or when talking with someone else: 'My mother has a brother'

Or both?

In Spanish we say 'the mum/dad' referring to our parents as long as we all know that I'm talking about our parents.

When talking with other people, we say 'my mum/dad'.

Mama and mother should be correct. It is the same in English. I wish they would stop correcting my English.
