I have just checked my average and, at approx 20 000 XP in approximately 10 months I have averaged 2000 XP per month. Given that when on holiday I only do 1 XP, and when busy only 10 this average surprised me.
This is such a meaningless and, ultimately, misleading statistic. As you pointed out in another post, your sister is

ripcurlgirl, do lighten up and have a bit of fun! There is a gym class I do that some physical trainers have told me is just insane and doesn't contribute to my physical fitness. But my response is that I do it because I enjoy it.
You, with many others also may not see the point of 15 men on each side chasing a strange shaped ball, but many fans of rugby really enjoy it.
I, with many others, enjoy being told I have so many XP, or have reached such and such a level. It's a game, a small but fun motivation, while we get on with the matter of learning a language.
