Basic 1 - My suggestions for improvement

I wanted to share my opinion about the Basic 1 lesson. I'm really confused about it, and its structure does not really make too much sense to me. Maybe I'm having troubles understanding it, but I want to give my insight as to what exactly irritates me.
1) 이다: You first indicate that there will be a part about "to be" which gets abandoned for quite some paragraphs. This was putting me off slightly, because I really couldn't find the connection to it again. I've only partially figured the usage of 이다 in the table with "limited topic, contrasting topic, .. etc", but it's not really clear as well. Some highlighting might work well here, to emphasize where exactly 이다 is used and how you apply it in korean grammar.
2) "THE" : Honestly, I don't really understand what I should do with this piece of information - couldn't it just simply be dropped away? It's not quite clear, from my point of view, what context you are talking about. An example would be cool here!
3) "And": You've introduced 하고 / 와 / 과. So far so good, but the examples do not quite make clear what you are trying to tell. I've translated those examples (which I will come to again in a second), and I've got something like "Man and". Is that how you apply "and" in korean, without a second noun? This could be explained a bit better from my point of view.
4) Translation and highlighting of examples: I would highly recommend that there are translations for vocabulary and highlights for the current word which you are talking about in a paragraph, so it's more clear what you are trying to teach. As for the vocabulary, in the exercises, there suddenly was "translate X", while I was completely confused at first because I have not encountered a single translation table in the "note" section of Basic 1.
5) Topic and Subject: I think the same from above applies here. Please work with more examples, because I don't know how you feel - but I couldn't really understand at first what exactly those topic markers are. I've read about them on other onlinepages, but was hoping to get a clearer instruction here, but it was missing as well unfortunately. Maybe a translated example with highlights on the current topic marker and what it tries to emphasize would be really helpful.
6) 의: I didn't understand this little input at all, unfortunately. A further example would be great.
Basically, what I want to suggest is that you use more translated examples and work with highlights, to make clear what you are trying to tell. I'm very happy that this course is in the beta now, so I hope my input can help - as a view from someone who hasn't studied any asian language before.
