Can't download for offline learning anymore
When I click on the logo for downloading, it just spins forever, without ever getting a checkmark that I got in the past.
I just subscribed to PLUS and the same thing is happening on my side.
Really surprised to see that something that some people complained quite a while ago is still around.
Not to mention that for users that have a more basic knowledge on how to use a cellphone would totally give up and unsubscribe.
Tried deleting cache, deleting app data, removing app and installing again and the problems is still there.
Has anyone managed to get it to work after this bug?
I had the very same bug and might have found a workaround :
open duloingo's app page in the phone settings (I enabled the "storage" permission there but it did fix it, but I don't know if it's needed for the fix)
go back to duolingo and try downloading the lessons
If it gets in a loop (or was in the loop), without killing duolingo, switch to the app setting page and erase the cache (in the storage section).
Go back to duolingo and you should get the checkmark and the lesson should be available offline. Then downloading other lessons seemed to work.
Sometimes you might have to repeat those steps if it gets back in the loop.
Seems like while downloading it keeps some data in the cache, keeping the download from being seen as done.
Write back if it doesn't fix, or let me know if it fixes it :)
Actually, they got in touch with me after I sent an email to the support and they updated my app.
Now it's working just fine. Instead of a download option per lesson I can now download the whole course by language and it update/download automatically when I get on the wifi.
Oh wow, wish they could extend that to others, I'm still more or less getting by with the workaround
Or just fixing the bug x) but kudos to them
