BTW. I just realized that many Jewish American family names end with tine or burg. Interesting! For example Steven Spielberg,

I don't know about "tine", but "burg" is a VERY common ending for German names (it means city/fortress). Most American Jews are of Ashkenazi/Germanic origin, hence the frequency of German name elements (although there are also many Slavic influences).
