Progress deleted after password reset

Hi, I’m posting on behalf of my 11 year old son. He has been using duolingo and learning a few languages with his friends. He’s been playing on iOS. He closed his app this afternoon and tried to log in tonight but was given a password prompt. It said his password was wrong so he changed it using the reset link. Now all of his progress has been lost and it says he’s not following anyone etc. He’s very despondent and upset. I don’t want this to dampen his enthusiasm. Can anyone offer a solution? Many thanks. Li

He probably created a new account by mistake. His previous account is probably still there. He should log out and then log in again with the previous username and password if he remembers it. Did he change which email address he is using? He should write down which email address and username and password he is using somewhere so that he won't forget it. I used an email address for the web version and when I went to a Samsung tablet there is an email address that is automatically assumed as the one I want to use that I set my tablet up with so I had to log out and log in with my previous account. Now, I am using an ipad and I didn't pay attention again and the email address that I set up my ipad with is assumed to be the one that I want to use which would again make a new account. So, don't just assume that it is using the correct email. The password could be wrong for the email address that it thinks you are using. So log out, then log in and you will also be prompted for the email address as well as the password.
