Ich bin Kanadier! Sie können Englisch mit mir üben!
Hi everyone! I'm Canadian and I just wanted to give you all the opportunity to practice your English! So let's chat! :)
I made a video about me trying to speak German!! Which you may find funny (or stupid) haha but feel free to check it out and tell me how I did in your language!
Haha yay! That's great! I wasn't sure if people would be able to understand me!
sure :-)... my english level was yesterday on 3, this times iam on level 7. so you can do it also with your german Level :-) Grüße aus Köln
Nice Video! Your german sounds a little bit when Holland people speak german.
Haha thank you! And really?! That's so interesting! I definitely have to tell my Dutch friend that!
nice try Tracy. Especially your Germanized English. Sez wot efriwon sinks a Tschörmen shut zaunt (that's what everyone thinks a German should sound). You only have to improve your "ch" sound.
Okay now I'll go rewatch the video and see how I can improve my accent! Thanks for the tip!
hello i'm Arun and come from Germany but i speak a Little bit english do you have time for me?
hey - that' s a good offer! but - do you really want to learn the german language? I mean I' d like to learn English, I' m now at 67%, but did not start from 0. I' m working here on the ships which cruise through Berlin and of course there are many tourists. Asking them if they want to have wine, if I can take cash, which snack they prefer and so on is no problem. But if they start to speak about other things or when I hear them talking to eachother I do not understand the most of it. It' s the same with books, but that is not so important, than I can look into a dicionary. So - how could it run, learning english from you? Is there any idea, do you have a system or do we just write! best from Berlin, Ulle
Hi Ulle! Thanks for the reply! I do want to learn German in the future but it is not a priority right now. I am currently focusing on Chinese and Italian. That is so cool to hear that you work on a ship! I am considering working on a cruise ship around Australia or Asia this December! Do you enjoy it? :) Yeah I feel that same struggle in my languages too. I know certain topics like food, shopping, and directions, but then once they try to carry the conversation on I can't understand! We can just write back and forth here on Duolingo! :) All the best from your friendly neighbourhood Canadian
Hi Traci! Ah, than I misunderstood something, I thought that perhaps you want to learn german and so you would have been able to write in german and I answer in english and so on. But finally I' m no teacher and could just say right or not, but I would not be able to say why, which grammatic form and so on;-) Yes, the job is funny. During the main season it' s a lot of work, but ok, during the time in the colder months like now you have a little time for the guests or - to learn languages. Relativly to learn ONE other language. Another advantage is the time in which you don' t have to work, january, february and the half of march. This year, by the way, I visited a girlfriend in Portugal, she rented a house there and is living there. My ExEx. 25 years ago I told her that I want to start spanish, because I was in Spain very often. In this time she lived in China for one year, she is a medicine, and she learned mandarin as well next to medicine, herbs, acupuncture and so on. After two or three months she wrote something - spanish. She speaks 10 or more languages and when I asked here how she did learn portugues she told me that she had a cd in portugues which she heard when she drove from Hamburg to Lissabon, that' s it. I am a man, I can just learn one language and than the other one and so on. And I want to learn english now much better than I told you before. And than I can try to make my spanish better. I also thought about a job on a cruise ship. But to be honest - just for earning a lot of money in a short time. There is, for example, the offer to work for one season, 6 months. One month free, but all the other ones you work nearly every day with two shifts, more or less 13, 14 hours. But you can assume something like 20000€ TIP, taxfree. It' s a really hard job, but the salery is really good. And you have to have experience working as a waiter! I' m still thinking about;-) So something goes wrong with my duolingo, so this was a good opportunity to do a bit english in spite of. All the best, Ulle
Nur ein kleiner Tipp für dich:
Du bist Kanadierin, weil du eine Frau bist. Ein Mann aus Kanada ist ein Kanadier.
Viel Spaß beim Deutschlernen wünsche ich dir. Ich werde jetzt dein Video gucken.
Haha wow my mistake!! Thank you for correcting me :) :) Hope you enjoy the video!
Hey , Traci Tari ,nice Video. I want to learn with you ,would be happy .About , my english is not so good . I come from Austria and speak german . I would be happy to hear from you to learn. Do you have time for me ?
Hi! What's your name? :) Thanks for watching my video! Wow Austria, that's great! The Sound Of Music is one of my favourite movies! Haha what do you like about living there? Of course I have time and I look forward to chatting with you!
Dein Akzent auf Deutsch klingt ein bisschen russisch/osteuropäsich nach meiner Meinung. Ich finde das toll, dass du deutsch lernst. Mach weiter so! Seit 2015 habe ich Deutsch gelernt. Das schlechte und gute Nachricht: es ist allerdings eine schwere Sprache zu lernen aber es geht einfacher im Laufe der Zeit.
Wow German isn't your native language?! That's amazing that you've learned it so well! Where are you from then if you don't mind me asking? :) Oh and yes I'm really bad at speaking German so that's probably why I sounded Russian. I didn't know what other voice to use haha
English is my native language, but German is certainly the only other language I can use somewhat fluently. I've still got a long way to go, especially when it comes to speaking spontaneously. I didn't think you were bad at speaking German at all. Quite good compared to others I've heard give it a try. It takes a long time to get those German sounds right. I'm still working on it!
