I thought passive PAST used a form of zijn?

The perfect passive of zijn is was and that'd mean 'had been'.

  • Ik word gevolgd - I am being followed
  • Ik werd gevolgd - I was being followed
  • Ik ben gevolgd - I have been followed
  • Ik was gevolgd - I had been followed

As a native English speaker the Dutch passive is so confusing for me sometimes :)
