"Will something change?" was my translation. How would you say this to differentiate it from "Will anything change?"
I will defer to fluent and native speakers, but my guess based on experience in other languages is that what is really being said here is, "Will anything change (itself)", where the "itself" is implied in English (as we do with a lot of verbs that are reflexive in other languages). (E.g., "You'll never change" -- "You'll never change (yourself)").
If my assumption holds, then the "se" will disappear when we are talking about changing other things. (E.g., "You'll never change the oil in your car", or whatever.)
