Norwegian tree - endelig avsluttet!
Hei alle sammen!
I just wanted to express my immense gratitude to Aleksander, Andreas, Gry, Leon, Linn, and Luke/Andrew for this fantastic language course. Norwegian is something i've been interested for years and I first started learning Danish in 2014 as I knew it was similar, at least in text, to Norwegian. I was thrilled when the Norwegian course came out in 2015 and immediately began studying the course. However over these 2 years I allowed work/life to get in the way/got lazy and took a lot longer than I needed to complete it. As they say though, better late than never! During these 2 years I have visited Norway 3 times (including acting as translator/guide for my parents) and have not only practiced my Norwegian at every opportunity, but impressed the locals with it! It is a huge confidence booster to know that what you learn on here can be understood by those living in the country.
What gave me the drive to really dig deep and finish the course though is so that I can apply for this particular job in Norway, where speaking and understanding Norwegian is a key requirement. I have always tried verbally to copy the robot's pronunciation in addition to the general typed translation, I have watched 'Norwegian Teacher Karin' https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC-kvsbMKDTLfbdzmgGQ7rNQ, and read Donald Pockets ;)
The other thing that has kept me interested is, as others before have stated, the quirky pop culture references and random sentences that break up lessons and give you a good giggle! Thank you to everyone for all your hard work, time and effort. You have created what truly is an incredible linguistic springboard for all learners of the language and should be very proud of your efforts!
Tusen hjertelig takk for everything! Nå for å få den jobben :)
I started the Norwegian course about 2 weeks ago and I found this APP is super good for a brand new learner. I only the time when I take the subway and the time on my way to office to learn the new words and practice. This is a new way to learn a foreign language and I like it better to sit in a classroom. I'm so glad that I happened to find this APP! ;)
Jeg har brukt Duo til norsk siden den ble utgitt. Jeg er halvveis halvveis. Kurset er nå robust og jeg gleder meg til å fullføre. [Men jeg er en eldre student. Langsom!] Tusen takk til laget !!
Lykke til med jobben, Kristy!
Jeg vet at du kan klare å få en jobb i Norge med språkkunnskapene du fikk med duolingo. Hvordan vet jeg det? Enkelt: jeg nettopp begynte å arbeide i Norge i går ;-D
Omg I love Donald Pockets! I went to Norway recently and managed to get quite a few (whilst getting strange looks from people at shops as I'm kinda too old to read them...). They are really good for practising reading pretty simple Norwegian whilst getting great stories! Good luck with the job by the way, I'm sure you'll do great
