la bienvenue

saw this on Wikipedia "Votre aide est la bienvenue"

why is it not just "votre aide est bienvenue"?

Bienvenu / bienvenue are nouns. As aide is feminine here, it takes the feminine form la bienvenue.
If it were referring to a masculine noun such as argent, it would be le bienvenu.
Ex Cet argent est le bienvenu.

Please, anyone, correct me if I have that wrong. Merci.

If "bienvenue" is a noun here, the sentence would be translated is "Your help is what is welcome."
