When do you plan to have stories in German?

November 8, 2017

  1. You should release it in French/German/Russian/The language I am learning!

We would love to! As is likely with any project in Labs, there is a tiny but mighty team behind it, and the staff involved use the resources available to them to test a concept. So it is safe to assume that the plan is to just keep polishing it in Spanish and Portuguese to see if Stories is successful in its goals.
If it is, it could launch as a full-on feature and then expand to other languages.
Also, in addition to spending resources in an experiment, the more languages we add at this stage, the more work (and time) it would take to refine it.
These requests are a great sign to us though—shows us that you are excited about the feature and can’t wait to use it. =]

On this site there are some stories and so on for German language learners: http://www.deutschalsfremdsprache.ch/index.php?actualid=5057_set=101

been waiting for french, italian and any others for a while now

Hallo! Congratulations! I have reached a German fluency rate of 63% on one account and I have 23% on an old account I haven't used in a while. I've tried repeatedly to delete the old account without success and now my phone keeps going back to it. So I'm locked out of the account I would like to use... can't seem to solve the problem on my computer or phone - can anyone help? Also - now that I've gotten through all the steps - what next? Love the program but it doesn't seem to go anywhere at this point.

DuoLingo labs stories has not progressed from it's early BETA testing phase.
Staff resources were fixed to Portuguese and Spanish (as available).

Well, noone can know if stories (hopefully!!!) will make it into final / production and mass rollout in any (or enhanced) form.

Personally I would not expect any more language rollout's before the BETA phase has ended.

I just want to say that I'm hoping for German stories too. I have finished all the currently available Spanish stories. Very enjoyable. Pretty easy for me. A few words I didn"t know but easily figured out from the context.
