Wishing to retract a report on a lesson

Was not sure where to put this but I wrote an incorrect answer in a lesson which was flagged up as it should have been, but I reported that my answer should be accepted. I then realised I stupidly had added an extra word in my sentence which should not have been there.

I suppose it will be looked at and ignored as I got it wrong, I just want to make sure it is not updated automatically as an additional answer.

Thanks for your time.

I just want to make sure it is not updated automatically as an additional answer.

Do not worry. All proposals are carefully evaluated by moderators.

Thought that ought to be the case. That's fine then. I feel a bit silly, I must admit!

It happens to all of us. Don't worry. And don't let it stop you from contributing.

I have seen one or two cases where an incorrect translation has slipped through, especially English translations, because I think the people who are on the teams, although bilingual, aren't always native English speakers and don't always catch subtle English problems.

I think it would be a great option to allow people to rescind their reports. I've felt the same way once or twice.

I recommend submitting a bug report and suggesting it.

In my experience, DuoLingo is piss-poor about following through on recommendations, but it certainly can't hurt to bring the problem to their attention. It's something that would potentially save time and effort on the part of the moderators, so it seems like it would be a low-hanging fruit so to speak, i.e. something that could take less than an hour to program and implement, and that could, across the site as a whole, save moderators countless hours of work.
