Strangest Sentence On Duolingo
What is the strangest sentence you have been asked to translate on Duolingo? Mine is: Why does he have such a fascination for death?
What is your strangest sentence?
"Crime fell after the chicken became prime minister"
From the norwegian course xD
"Ett får får en ren ren" - A sheep gets a clean reindeer.
Since it's almost winter a very important advice:
"Ät inte gul snö!" - Don't eat yellow snow!
Edited to add these that just came up in my lesson:
"Titta, en flygande ko!" - Look, a flying cow!"
"Det är svårt att komma på en passande mening." - It is difficult to come up with a suitable sentence. (thanks to the awesome contributors and their honesty!)
"Jag är en talande älg." - I am a talking moose.
Which course is that? :D :P :) LOL
Okay, that's just hilarious! XD I feel bad for the homeowners tho lol
"der Präsident hat kleine Hände" the president has small hands. I mean it's not weird, because it's true, but it's funny.
I couldn't find it, but I know there's a sentence that goes like: "He has twelve arms on the table" or something like that in German.
Well, they do in the Swedish course...
"Hunden åt katten" - The dog ate the cat.
instead of " ich haben einen vogel " I had "ich bein vogel" ?!?! (I have a bird / I am a bird)

I had several funny sentences in the Italian course, here are some of my favourites:
Le mie scarpe sono elettriche? (Are my shoes electric?)
Il ragno è sotto il formaggio. (The spider is under the cheese)
L'ingegnere è nel frigorifero. (The engineer is in the fridge.)
Qual è il tuo pinguino? (Which one is your penguin?)
I tuoi insetti sono nel mio piatto. (Your insects are on my plate.)
"The animals have questions"
Well, now the animals aren't the only ones lol
This sentence from Spanish is actually one I got yesterday:
"Los gatos beben cualquier cosa, desde leche hasta cerveza."
Literally, "The cats drink anything, from milk to beer".
Hard to pick a specific one, but the Hungarian course needs a mention in this thread, so I'll recall as best as I can: "The kindergarten teacher flew down to the clock."
