"Woont jouw familie in het centrum?"
Translation:Does your family live in the center?
Can anyone explain the difference between "gezin" and "familie", if there is one?
Yep, there is a difference:
- Gezin: your close family, usually living in one home. E.g. a mother, father and their children. Or you and your spouse and your children.
- Familie: the rest of the family: grandparents, uncles and aunts and cousins, and, later on, your siblings, their spouses and nephews and nieces.
I said "Is your family living in the center?" That should be correct too, right? I sent a report.
You can say "centrum" in English, it should be accepted. If you're in a European city, you will say "centrum" in English and an English speaker will understand exactly what you're saying.
