Maybe songs by Yvonne Catterfeld would interest you (My personal recommendation, I really like her songs ;-))
Hallo Michael,
have a look to youtube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bkj3IVIO2Os&list=RDQMZAq1ZIQkXGQ and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-Ik3yy728Y&list=PLkoX81Ynz-2NFPTWbKvdMACfvcSKnO4tk
Another good way to train with music is here https://lyricstraining.com/en. So when you found german bands you like, search for their songs there.

Just enter "German songs" in the discussion stream and you will find a gazillion of songs.
Most of the German music I listen to is rap, and it's pretty much all explicit, but here's a list of some of my favourite German artists (each has quite a lot of decent music)
Kollegah Favourite Yung Hurn Maeckes RAF Camora Marsimoto Caspa Ramstein UFo361 Kontra K Jimmy Hendricks 187 Strassenbande Ali As Bausa Celo & Abdi Chefket Die Gebruder Brett Gestort aber Geil Jan Delay Savas Trettman
Seeing your comment about sad songs about love, I recommend "Totgeliebt" by Tokio Hotel. (Tokio Hotel is my favorite band...)
I find it interesting, because the title means "love to death", but not in a airy way of "I love her to death!", but rather, dying because of love.
