I Finished My Spanish Tree!
I am super excited and I can not believe I was able to complete the entire tree. While I still am a long way from being fluent, I am able to understand Spanish and catch the subtle nuances of the language now. Of course there is still a lot to review and many topics that I struggled with and need to review. I love this site and when combined with other sites (eg youtube, studyspanish, and spanish.about.com) really helped to lay a good foundation for my Spanish comprehension. Also, watching telenovelas on hulu plus helped as well.
Nope, but I use it for references sometimes. I know most of the formatting functions.
Congrats! I also finished my Spanish tree yesterday. I too still struggle with some of the tenses but am getting much better the more I practice. The grammar section of StudySpanish helped me out a lot.
How long did you have to stick to it? It can get hard I know. But people are different so.... how about you?
I've been did the tree in about three months. I would always keep going back over it and over it until I was able to type, read, and speak without thinking. However, towards the end of the tree I have not done that yet. So, its not as ingrained but I do plan on reviewing
can you give an estimation in real world terms of your current language skills?
At think at this point I feel that if I were in a Spanish speaking country I could carry on a basic conversation. I would talk slowly as i translate in my head. there are still tenses that I am not comfortable with such as subjunctive that I need to work on. However, I am from a Hispanic family and kind of always had a basic understanding of Spanish. however, I was never taught it.
