Is there a traditional character option? Either way, absolutely loving this - I've tried every copycat app for Chinese and nothing compares to Duolingo.

Not that I know of. However, Traditional characters should be accepted for the most part. If not, just report it.

¿Doesn't it teach the stroke order? it's important to know it in chinese, because if you don't, you don't know how to write. Apart from that, I have been waiting this course for a while and i am glad that it's finaly here.

In the official blog post it says, "Our Chinese course teaches you how to recognize and pronounce nearly 1,000 important and common Chinese characters." Given how many months it took them just to introduce the only apparently slightly different exercises they brought online for Japanese, Korean, Chinese, I can't say I think it's a surprise they didn't tackle the seemingly much larger task of introducing some kind of exercise type to help with stroke order. (Also it's not addressed in Japanese, where it's just as relevant.)

You can just write down the characters you're learning and investigate yourself what the exact stroke order is. There are plenty of websites showing you the stroke order for each character you'll learn in the Duolingo course.

Yay, I started it and used Test Out to get a few levels up! It's pretty cool, but has a few minor errors.
