If you're talking about 군인, then no, the origin isn't "Detroit-gun", it's actually from Chinese "軍人", literally "military person". I was asking about the word the starter of this comment thread posted (스림셰이디)

Yes, Slim Shady is from Greater Detroit (so the 곤 rather than the metropolitan area). He had a song with the line, "I am a soldier."
