The default smallest font-size for Chinese characters is too small on my computer.

When I try to zoom-in in the browser they become much readable but other screen elements are gigantic now and don't fit the window. Is there a way to adjust font-size only for Chinese hieroglyphics and not for pinyin, English etc?

I second that, the font could be a little bit larger.

They should have it mouse hover over, it would increase the size of it and show the correct way to write it. That way we get a lot out one word. I have to look up the correct way to write each thing I learn, and it's making learning take longer.

I remember solving this back when I used archlinux by installing an otf file from google called Noto Sans SC. I hope it helps
