got a hard time with kanji, can only memorize some character by the looks (chichi like a tie, haha like a window) and the simple kanji (ichi, ni, san :p). but for complex one like gakusei and other character, i can remember it during the lessons but after a week its all mixing up in my head (i remember seeing that character, but cant recall what it means until i hit the speaker button and heard how it sounds).

any suggestion how to improve that?
