How do you explain who sings a song?

Is it correct to say 'La chanson 'Aller plus haut' DE Tina Arena'? or would you use PAR?

"Par" is used for the artist performing the song, which does not mean that this artist actually wrote the lyrics or composed the melody.

"De" is better to introduce the author-composer.

It seems to me that par is used all the time to connect a piece of work with its creator... After reading your comment I did a quick search and found this website: http://www.oeuvres-art.com. Both de and par have been used in descriptions and there doesn't seem to be a clear reason why one is favoured over the other. For example, these two phrases: a) "Une célèbre peinture de 1964 par le peintre surréaliste belge René Magritte.", b)"Guernica est une oeuvre cubiste de Pablo Picasso." Is that a mistake? Could you please explain usage a bit more?

No I'm a Scot. I've loved Tina's music for a long time! Did you know she has a two brilliant French albums? She even released a new French single 'Tant que tu es la' last Friday :)
