Shouldn't "I would regularly..." be translated be "Pravidelně bych..."

I still do not understand. I would translate Czech sentence to English like:
"I was regularly getting expensive jewelry from him."
And current English sentece seems to have different meaning.
in English you can say "I would do x" for "I usually did x". So the "would" does not indicate conditional here.

Dostával is accepted, but only as a typo. In this day and age, surely two men can give each other jewelry on a regular basis?
