- explanation disappeared with new structure
- first explanation of words, like other languages would help
- first less complicated structures, way of saying in chinese is very different from english
一 means number "one", pronounced as "yi" in first tone, so written as one horizontal stroke.
二 means number "two", pronounced as "er" in fourth tone, so written as two horizontal strokes.
三 means number "three", pronounced as "san" in first tone, so written as three horizontal strokes.
三 is pronounced san in Japanese also so the 3's are both the same. :}
I wonder why 4 isn't 4 strokes? I know that I'm Chinese but I can't help wondering...
The tips when you start a lesson do a great job of explaining, but see if you can make sense of this: 37 = 三十七, three 10's and a seven, 378 = 三百七十八 , three one hundreds, seven tens and an eight.
