Wouldn't it also be correct to say 图书馆下面有咖啡馆 (minus the 的)? I got marked wrong

No problem at all. Report it.

It's accepted now, 27.1.18

According to my native Chinese speaking girlfriend it's fine.

Is no measure word needed before 咖啡馆?

Not necessary unless the number is specified. Although it is likely to be 1 café, more is also possible.

    Good question! Such as 一家?

You could add 一家 if you want, but it's not necessary

Any other situations in which we don't need to include measure words?

Although you can say '有间咖啡馆', it's okay to not have it

It's still being marked wrong without 的。的isnot required. Also "a coffee bar" indicates only one, so 一家咖啡馆 I think is correct.

    "底下"可不可以代替"下面"?

I get really confused where to place the location, for example 我坐在爸爸和妈妈中间 So the 中间is located at the end. However in this question it is located in the middle. When should it be-placed at the end and when in the middle of the sentence?
