This should also count: "He has a lot of older sisters." Or: "He has a lot of sisters." The original translation is awkward.

This sounds so much like: "He meets his older sister". How can you tell the difference?

had the same issue haha
I guess you gotta look out for the particle
그는 누나 만나요 (X)
그는 누나 만나요 (O)

The difference is in the spelling : "많아" (many) / "만나" (meet)

"elder sisters" should be accepted, too.

What is the difference between 누나, 언니 and 자매

누나 is what you call your older sister if you are male. 언니 is what you call your older sister if you are female. These terms can also be used amongst close friends, so a close female friend who is older and you are also female would be your 언니.

Me as a male would never use the terms 오빠 (older brother) and 언니 (older sister) as they are for females to use.

I would use 형 (older brother) and 누나 (older sister).

I have the same question! I also speak Chinese and 자매 happens to be a Chinese word: 자 - older sister, 매 - younger sister. Also based on k-dramas, it seems that 언니 refers to older sister by blood, whereas 누나 can be any woman older than you. But I'm not too sure about this second point

I smell Joey Tribbiani in this sentence... :);)

I thought it would be perfect going to '그 는 누나가 많이 있어요' Or is it wrong?

Can it be "그는 누나가 많이 있어요"?
