Lost my 160 day streak - through no fault of my own!

I have been conscientiously building my streak for several months. I'm away from home for a couple of weeks, but I have made sure I have logged on at some point in the day - if even only to score a few points to keep my streak going. I did use up a streak freeze one day, which I renewed immediately. Yesterday I completed a few questions to maintain my streak but today I see that I have lost it completely and I am back to Day 1.

I am in the UK and assumed that my Duo clock was synced to my local time zone but it appears not. Really annoyed about this and have lost all incentive.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Your Duo clock is synced to the timezone that you were in upon signup. Going to take a look. That is an impressive streak! Look for an email shortly.

Thanks, Kristine, that's good of you. I have noticed that lingo awards etc always seem to appear mid morning - so I don't know if my Duo clock is set right. I am in the UK and all my Duo activity has been in the UK as well.

I'd move this to the troubleshooting section. You can do that by clicking "Edit" near the lower right of your post text and then changing the "Topic" at the top left to "Troubleshooting" and clicking "Save".

I once did a lesson at 23:00 in my normal time zone but it was registered at 9:00 the next day (as my wi-fi was really slow) but I got it back as I told Luis, you should do the same

I lost my 90+ streak so I understand you being bummed but please just begin again. My situation was just not doing a lesson one day (I thought I had). I'm sure you learned a lot during your streak it would be sad to quit and let that knowledge decay.

Thanks for the encouragement. There is a problem though as I've noticed my stats update about 11am here - so the clock is set wrong somehow. Hopefully Duo will sort it and return my streak! ;-)

Hmm...when you say you were away, were you in a different time zone?

No - same time zone. And making sure that I answered at least a few questions between midnight and midnight.

Then I'm not sure, sorry. Anyways, I don't know if you have a lot of lingots or not, but if not, here's 10. Get yourself a Streak freeze.

Thanks for asking though. I replaced the streak freeze immediately when I used one up and it's still enabled - so even if I had missed a day, I shouldn't have lost the streak.

And thanks for the lingots! Very kind of you.

I do a lot of french learning from reading and tv/radio. I use Duolingo just to do some daily grammar practice. Keeping a streak going is a good incentive to make sure I do some everyday - otherwise it's easy to start lapsing for odd days, which can lead to weeks. I meant incentive to use Duolingo, not learn the language.
