does anyone else understand this

ok so im kind of cofused with french how it has du la le and alll kinds of other things could any one help me or have the same problem? please help me !

Du= de + le means of the or some (masculine)

De la = de + la means of the or some (feminine)

Des = de + les means of the or some (plural, regardless of gender)

Exemple: l'exterieur du chateau the exterior of the castle

De is used in negatives and can mean any.

Je n'ai pas de fleurs. I don't have (any) flowers.
