"Je dobrá!"

Translation:She is good!

November 20, 2017

Could this also be "Je dobrý "?

Little puzzled by your question. This is a translation from Czech. But if the English sentence was HE IS GOOD, then JE DOBRÝ would be a correct translation.

Does this expression relate to behavior or ability or both? Americans tell a child "be good", Swiss express themselves differently. How is that in Czech?

Could be many things, good/dobrý is a very general word. But it is more likely to be used about an ability. A good person/dobrý člověk can really means he is kind, nice and so on, but for a child it is less likely. We would say the child is "hodné" if it behaved well.

Thank you much.
